| Ellen Lindsey,
LCSW, LPC
Austin Counselor
One of the main things that I want potential clients to know is that I really love therapy. Counseling is deeply fulfilling work and I am grateful for the opportunity to build relationships in this way.
My name is Ellen Lindsey and I'm an Austin psychotherapist. The "LCSW" means that I have a masters degree in
social work and am licensed to practice clinical social work on my own. The "LPC" means am a licensed professional counselor. Why do I have two licenses? It's a long story. Feel free to ask me if you're interested.
More important than my credentials, though, is who I am as a person and what that means for your potential in therapy.
The most important trait a therapist must possess is capacity for healthy relatedness, because it is within context of
relationship that emotional and mental healing occurs. I bring a warm smile, a curious, gentle, friendly manner, a
ready laugh, and an healthy self into the therapy room. These are some of my greatest attributes as a counselor.
Are you struggling in dealing with relationships? Family, friends, partners, coworkers, and kids can bring out the best
and the worst in us. Maybe you are having a hard time finding the "right" mate and you want help figuring that out.
Do you need support for depression, or stress and anxiety help? Often, changes in lifestyle and habits
of thinking and communicating can provide the best results. Many adults could benefit from parenting and divorce support or grief treatment. Austin counselors are there for
you. The simple yet powerful experience of truly being seen and heard can bring
relief.
Therapy can be a meaningful, transforming experience and I am passionate about its process and potential.
In my work at Counseling Austin, I sincerely care about my clients which gives me a strong intention and an unwavering focus
on their healing.
I am in a continual state of self-education regarding current thought and research on neurobiology and relatedness,
psychospirituality, and psychotherapy tools. This learning enriches the work I do with clients every day.
How can I get the most out of the counseling process?
